Bay Pavillion
Bay Pavillion is an exploration of colour, form, texture and composition; a harmonious and spirited proposition for a young family of six.
While varied in composition and intent, the overall approach to Brighton Residence reflects the verdant energy and harmony of the clients' family life. Driven by purpose and practicality, the approach skillfully balances the sleek elemental forms of the architecture with longevity and sentimentality at its heart. Distinctive yet playful, Brighton Residence presents a welcoming 'forever home' to relish and delight for many years to come.
The lower level is conceived as a Miesan glass pavilion anchored by a kitchen core. The broad, glazed perimeter presented a loose, gallery-like arrangement of spaces seeking definition and purpose, defining atmospheres to best support the lifestyle and interests of the family.
Responding to the monolithic island bench articulated in a deep-hued natural stone, the dining area presents an airy inversion of form. A solid timber table designed by Michael Anastasiades harks back to traditional, hard-wearing family tables to eat, work, play and gather around, bolstering familial connections. The proportions mimic the scale of the island, while the slender top and claret-toned tailored legs provide a playful sculptural counterbalance.
